Independent contract climber

For me estimants, advertising, employees, equipment maintenance, high overhead, equipment payments, it just became a dusk till dawn operation, and I have a friend that loves it that way and does very well with it, I guesse contract climbing is a better fit for me

Compared to a 9 to 5 job I feel like I can make a lot more money and enjoy the networking with many companies , but you will need to evaluate how many things you will loose and how important they are to you. 401 k match paid sick days, paid vacation things of that nature

I would think you could also find your own certain area of expertise in the contract climbing realm I specialize in large technical removals , you may want to specialize in high end pruning or another certain aspect of climbing

Best of luck to you give it a shot and if it's not for you get back with a company you like and be an employee there certainly isn't anything wrong with that. Well i won't blather on any longer lol

Levi, you really were paying attention at my talk? :sisi:

Mark, I know this is an old thread, but I just love that phrase. It puts things in their proper order, and by making a mantra out of it, it makes it easy for people to keep their minds in the right place with regard to how the work should go.

Are you the one who coined the phrase? Nice going if so. Words to remember. Thanks.

I don't really know that Tim. I have never heard anyone else put it in that order before. That's an order I usually list at talk I give on professionalism. I hear many others list safer, easier, more efficient. ..I just think the other order matters more to me.
