In Praise of My Groundworker

[ QUOTE ]
Over the years I've had a few ground people that could predict what I needed before I asked for it. And that is real special.

[/ QUOTE ]

I too have experienced that, but I also get that every day! Ivan (pronounced E-bon in Spanish) anticipates a lot of my needs before I ask.

It is kind of like a surgeon with an assistant, but in tree work. I'll look to him and say, "088." He'll have it running and set at the base of the tree. I make my notch start my back cut, I'll say, "Wedges." He'll pass me the wedges. I'll say, "Axe." He'll had me the axe.

Stuff like that.

Like Chris, I too work with my wife. It has been great! But there are days and times when working with the spouse can be counter-productive. It doesn't take much intuition to figure out when they are unhappy.

My wife knows I am worth MORE dead than alive! That keeps my tongue in check, when things aren't going according to plan!

Women are very good with equipment, and use finesse rather than brute force when dealing with tree gear. It always suprises clients when she deals with the quotes, and then runs rigging ropes, and everything else.

I wouldn't trade my partner for anyone else! I have too much into her training!

AND she has too much into mine!
