I\'D vs Gri-Gri

Hey all,
Ive been wondering about this for a little while. What is the differnece between the gri-gri and the I'D (other than the price). I always use a gri-gri but I was wondering if the I'D has any advantages that would make me wanna switch over. Thanks for all the help.

Re: I\'D vs Gri-Gri

Thanks Tom
That site is awesome! I had seen stuff on it before but didnt know where to find it. I usualy use my grigri for when Im working on a spar. I use it on my pole choke system (instead of a knot and f8). I also keep it on me when ascending on a single rope in case I have to come down. Finaly I'll use it sometimes in a second system ( Ill tie a running bowline, then descend where I have to work, still tied in on my primary Ddrt system). Thanks for the help.

Re: I\'D vs Gri-Gri

My understanding of differences between the ID and the gri gri is primarily the anti-panic integrated in the ID for SRT descent.

I love my grigri, it has a permanent spot on my gear loops because you never know what pops up. Today my lanyard got so coated in Doug Fir pitch that my VT became a solid glob rendered useless. Grigri to the rescue.

Re: I\'D vs Gri-Gri

The I'd is rated for a two-person load.

It comes in a version that accepts half inch rope.

The Eddy is a tool that is similar in function to the GG put it has a panic lock off similar in function to the I'd. It's my preference in this use over the GG.
