I need new hikers

They're heavier than sneaks but... yeah.

Thats cool, I know it nice to be diff and find a comfort in it. My trade mark is the cowboy boots. They never forget your name, when placed with something diff.

Anyway sorry to drift off! Bull the Trango Trek are what they call a medium stiff. You'll find they are no diff then a regular shanked boot.

So far, with my limited research, it seems I am leaning towards and Alpine/mountaineering boot. Footlocking abilities aren't a major concern for me, I can FL in any boot when need be, and a set of hikers are FAR easier than my Wescos!

I like the reviews on Asolo and La Sportiva so far the best, although admittedly I haven't research Merrell, and the others fully yet. Trangos are tops on the list, I have to try a set though first.

how many of you have gotten more than 2 years out of these, and then resoled them for more use?

how many of you have experienced the Gore Tex still working after a year of real use, not worn to work once in a while and mostly used to bum around in?

Waterproof and durability are the two biggest factors for me.

thanks again for all the replies!

I'm another Asolo fan. Great boots. There is probably an REI near you. I definitely would recommend going there and becoming a member. Fifteen dollar lifetime fee and the return policy is real good. If you buy something you don't like you can just take it back and swap for something you do like.

Boston, I don't think anyone would want to buy a two year old pair of stinky boots LOL!

...Sorry, I couldn't help it!

I've been wearing these for the past 6 months. Garmont Tower. Definately one of the best boots I've worn for all around tree work.

Ive got a pair of Asolo fugitives and have had them for about 15 months. I just replaced the sole on them and they are holding up great, although the new sole, a vibram, is super slick and is not getting any grippier with wear. I love the fit and feel of the boot though, and the rest of the boot is in great shape and still waterproof.

Jim I don't wear those,But they do look nice, and I roamed the web site, and just seen they had a store near you somewhat, just trying to be helpful. Buy some and let me know how you like them.
