I 'm still here.......

Re: I \'m still here.......

Hey let's not run off Riggs. Everything he say's is his honest opinion. Can the rest of you say that?

I think it was him who came out with a real pearl of wisdom. He described accidents as not being accidental but mistakes. I took that one to the bank.

Maybe a three drink limit before posting though. I could be wrong about that sorry if I am. He's a complicated guy to firgure out. Might just be too damn smart.

Re: I \'m still here.......

Fair enough. When someone posts an "accident" in awakenings and the best we can do is wish him a fast recovery is not doing full justice. Sometimes someone needs to say you f' ed up and no it's not OK. Just a little more diplomatic would be more productive. We wouldn't want to scare people away from sharing their learning experience.

I'm still here...... Honestly who cares. You don't ever add anything constructive to this forum. Sure you have been doing tree work longer than I have, and but you don't do anything to advance our industry. All you do is bash others. Wow! Thank God you are still here. I will rest better knowing that.

Re: I \'m still here.......

If it wasn't for youtube I would never have known about Ace tree or Sherbrooke, etc. which are very perfessional arborists that have great videos, And they are on the other side of the world!

When I saw A new thread by Riggs I was excited because it is the end of the year.....and you know what that means.. The best pics of 2011 thread!
Riggs you useually start this Thread. I'm sure you got a pic you really like from this year? Reg? Do you have a good still picture you really like from this year from your new environment? X? I know you have takin down some Monster trees this year.
Sorry to derail this awsome discussion.
I just want to see some Great pictures

Re: I \'m still here.......

I have to disagree with your statement. Riggs has contributed to this site and our industry as a whole his entire career. I had someone in my class at Rutgers this week talking about how Riggs has shared info with him a few times when they met and how it helped him think about rigging differently. I know Riggs also helps his chapter run the website, the TCC and has done this every year since around the time he stopped competing. Maybe he doesn't come on here and show everything he knows regularly, but he definitely contributes regularly in other ways.

Re: I \'m still here.......

I certainly don't know Riggs from Adam and my comments are accurate as far as I see it with regards to most of his posts on this site. I think about the thread about letting Butch back to the Buzz and many of the complaints people had about Butch, I can make about Riggs. Yet Riggs is allowed to come one here and start pointless threads like this that contribute nothing to our industry.

It makes me happy to hear that in the real world, Riggs isn't as rude, childish, and self centered as I see him on there. Maybe if he wouldn't start threads like this, I would have more respect for him and then I wouldn't post comments like this.

Re: I \'m still here.......

"I have met and dealt with dozens of these 'best arborists ever' throughout my career, and let's just say the biggest braggarts from back in the day are the ones that now comprise the jaded treeman scrap heap.

Let's friggin help each other instead of talking about how bad or useless everyone else is or how good we are compared to the rest of the world. That is totally unproductive, and runs counter to the entire reason for having these forums."

Tom's got something here. We are too small a profession to indulge in fratricide. I've hung out with murph and riggs both and love em like brothers, but neither is as good as they sometimes think and act like they are.

Then again I ain't 10% of who I talk like sometimes!

As arborists we have to be supremely confident on the job, but it helps to drop that attitude if we are to get along off the job.

Been doin tree work since the mid-60's, and feeling every second. of it..

Luckily I can't tell the difference between good looking and ugly with men. He's got a good attitude for sure.

His good attitude wasn't why he got past second base on our first official fight to the death face to face meeting. It's those eyes, the big smile, the perfectly aligned cheekbones, and pouty, proud lips that allowed him to hit a grand slam that night.

I've been hardcore dogging on young tree guy talent since the 90s. I got nothing on Riggs, but by god, I'll get there someday.

Mid 60's Guy? That'd make you what....10 years old? :-)

Another side to consider in this blood letting thread....there are actually guys that have way more experience, more expertise and more knowledge than others.

The only commonly accepted ones are the contest guys and the vid guys.

Many would have it that, hey, we are all the same on here.

Whatever.

Re: I \'m still here.......

Hey watch it , EMR you're Eve to my Adam , give me that rib back ! . Tree work on you tube has become polluted with crap . If I upset you so much , I'll come to Wi. and tie a hug on your rope , pull it up and get what you need . The ones that get the most upset are the guilty ones . The no snitch rule is cool till your in a room with the "good" guys . In the real world I am rude and childish , but more than that I am real , so get over it lolipop . Back to the subject , as far as computer skills go , I could train a puppy to post a video these days . I was really just on the internet checking my fantasy football playoff scores and dropped by this site to give a shout out . Just a little hello . Headed down the game tomorrow for no other reason than I have a ticket . I'll be saying the same thing tomorrow , I'm still here , hardcore Birds fan for too long . Now I have to go google Emr's contributions too the industry , hope I don't miss the game . How many people in a grave yard wish they were still here ? 70 % ? not like we can ask .
