Who is the large corporation? I thought the haas was privately owned? This is bull. I don’t use the saka but I still support the innovation behind it. Sorry ur getting bullied
Sorry to hear that Richard, I’m glad my SAKA is still in great shape and will continue to use it and know it was made with pride by you! Hopefully something may change with your other patent because your product is 100% top notch!Dear customers,
I am removing the SAKA from the market. After spending thousands of dollars in an attempt to discuss patent issues with the original maker of a competing product, and even though I have my own patent pending for the SAKA, I simply cannot afford the legal challenges coming from a large corporation that now owns the HAAS.
The SAKA is just another step in the progression of a rope walking system and is as different from prior methods as SRT is to DRT. The materials and methods used in constructing the SAKA are unique, as well as its function. There is no single fixed end and free end to the bungee, nor is there a bungee in the load-bearing (rope) member, those things that separated the HAAS from prior existing rope walkers such as Jerry Beranek's.
My sincere apologies.
Thanks for your understanding,
Richard Mumford

Yeah they go way back before the Beranek video. The Haas was a great improvement on all those prior systems that actuàlly made that concept functional. the SAKA is also a very polished, fast, and fine tool that will be greatly missed.I'm not sure of the timeline, but I think cavers were using the bungee systems before Gerry, perhaps he also invented it.
Amish can be just as shrewd businessmen as anybody else...both in a good way and a bad way. I work in the timber industry as well. Some of the best loggers around are Amish...some of the worst loggers (tear up the woods, lie to the landowners, cheat others out of money, etc...) are Amish.Wow that’s a weird twist, I was expecting it to be someone else. Isn’t Weaver all Amish folks?
Me too. I love my SAKA, Richard. The quality and thought that went into it is second to none. If it is indeed Weaver behind this legal pressure, then they won't get a dime from me for anything they make. Our collective buying power, our boycott, is our only weapon to influence this sort of situation, because ultimately our trade with them is all that props up these large companies. Yes, vote with our wallets.. . . I am glad that I purchased a SAKA when I did. . .
