Hydraulic quick connects

Has anyone had issues connecting the flush face quick connects for hydraulic implements?

My problem... Yesterday I spent the better part of 30 min trying to connect my BMG to my Thomas 25G. It seems that I disconnected the hoses when it was cold to put the bucket on for plowing and it was nearly 50 degrees yesterday when I was hooking up to move logs. The lines on the BMG were over pressurized to the point where I could not get the connectors to... well connect. The only explanation I could come up with is that the lines warmed up, the oil expanded and put too much pressure on the line. I ended up taking the fittings off to bleed the pressure so I could get them to connect. It worked, but what a mess to have to do that every time or even occasionally. I have had the same problem with my tractor mounted grapple and plow at different times but just suffered through it. Does anyone else have this problem ever? Or is there something that can be done to relieve that pressure without getting oil everywhere? Thanks in advance for relieving my frustration!:muyenojado::tonto:

Connect them togheter when they're not on a machine. Also, jog your aux. control stick once you have turned off the machine to relieve any pressure in the system, before disconnecting.

Did you try playing with the aux control to reconnect? Could also be in the machine.

Sometimes you can use a gear puller to grab the fitting and depress the plunger to let some pressure off. Same concept as hammer and pin just a little more control on the plunger.

Thanks everyone I guess im not the only one that gets oil on their hands because of this. I have tried connecting the 2 hoses together but then I had an issue with getting them apart, but maybe I will try again with the grapple slightly open.
I've tried jogging the lever but it seems like the build up is in the implement and won't let the couplings depress.
Guess I will have to just plan on it from now on and bring extra tools unless someone has a miracle fix. Thanks guys for your help

Connect under pressure fittings are not worth the costs from my experience not much better at all you need to neutralize the pressure after you turn machine off before disconnecting and you won't have as much trouble sit the grapple how it will stay till you use it again and kill machine then equalize pressure and disconnect and when going to hook on to the grapple hook hoses up first then proceed to the quick attach. The grapple hanging in the air is going to add some pressure to one hose and pull a slight vaccume on the other all tho its not much pressure it is enough it can cause trouble.

Thanks axe, I didnt think about the grapple adding to the problem like that. I will keep that in mind the next time. I also thought about putting a jumper hose between the couplings on the machine, but Im not sure it will help much.

For my machine, to equalize the pressure I turn the machine off...then back to the on position (without starting it). Then while key is in this position I jiggle the hydraulic stick fully both ways, then disconnect. Since I've done this, I've never been not able to get at least one hose on when re-installing. If you can only get one hose on when re-installing I do the same process, and the other hose easily clips on.
