Husky Arborist saw

So ya'll think. My muffler modded 2139T Jonsered will clean any stock 200T's clock. And it's lighter and way cheaper. Startes and runs like a top, idles well, starts easily. And long lasting.

Same saw as the 338, but it sells close to $100 less.

It took ElectroLux 10 years, but they finally made a bombproof climb saw. The latest saws have all the bugs worked out.

338 hands down. i use a 338 cali, same as 334 and 338 but has a 45cc motor. i've had mine for about 4 years now and the only problem i've ever had was a broken starter cord. it starts every time and i'll put it against a 200t anyday. don't get me wrong the 200 is a great saw too but i like my 338 alot better. i've also used a 334 alot and they are good saws too. it's all in what you prefer and what you're trimming.

Countryboy. I have two 45 cc 335 Cali's, made several years ago. They are OK, but I prefer the non Cali version. The large Cali motor was produced to allow it to pass Cali's emission standards and be sold there. But its passageways, ports, and carb are too small to support the large displacement. So, the saws sound and run as if they are detuned, which effectively, they are. Once muffler modded, they are fine, but are slower and a bit less responsive than my 2139T.....

I'm going to order one or two more of them...as they are cheaper than the 338, and look better in black and red.

Comparing a ported saw to a stock saw? ummmmm.......

Lets compare that ported saw to a ported 200T? Fair playing field there.

The OP is looking for opinions on stock saws, not ported, not muffler modded, not obsolete, STOCK saws.

in case you missed it he asked abot husky arborist saws. he diden't say anything about stihl. he asked for an opinion on husky trim saws and that is what he got. i'll take a 334 or 338 over a 200 anyday. the 200t is way overpriced in my opinion and the 192 is just too underpowered. just my opinion but hey all we got are opinions. oh and my saw is not ported.... yet. obsolete? they make em every day.

Yes the 334, 336, are both obsolete, that means they no longer "make em every day".

He asked about Husky climbing saws, I dont like them or their primitive design. So I gave my opinion

i've never had any problems with my primitive caveman 338 lol. i have used it ALOT and it has never let me down. broke the starter cord once and it idled the rest of the day while i wasen't cuttin.

How do I get/get the info how to do a muffler mod on my 338 cali. or is it one of those things that if you don't have the know how you don't get to have?

dude muff modding is easy if you know how to use a drill and retune a carb properly. all you do is put a 1/2 hole in the muffler where it wont melt any plastic and depending on the EPA regulations where your from you might need to braze a spark screen onto the hole. retune that carb to run richer and your done.
