How do you wind down?

You may also consider picking up a hobby of some sort. I have a lathe and I like to turn bowls and that kind of thing. I get to put the effort into something and I also have something to show for it when I am done.

It doesn't hurt that you have continuous free access to wood while you are at work either. Pick it up for something to do, or go to seminars and talk with other people. I really do like the challenge. There is always something different to try, and it's never the same challenge twice.

Work is what I actually need to reduce the stress in my life. NOT being the boss means I seldom have work-related stress that lasts.

Beer.

Splicing, which I am learning now. Just finished making my base tie-in back-up at this moment, and the prussik to go with it.

Beer.

And TreeBuzz of course.

And beer.

Yoga, meditation, heavy bag and listening to my kids. Each day is different and I have/use options.
Although hitting the heavy bag isn't as much unwinding but rather releasing.

As I pondered this question I realized, I don't have any stress to speak of. Nothing that would require something to relieve it. I guess I'm blessed that way... or perhaps having ten kids has mellowed me over the years. I learned to be stress free a long time ago. Life is good, and I'm a happy man.

I use a simple decision making process at the point and time of the stress stimulus. I ask myself " Self is this worth punching some one in the face?" if not I let it go right then. If yes they get punched in their face.

Oh, and being thankful for what I have relieves stress also. I'll usually will start with my toes and go from there. Sounds weird but, after I realize I'm thankful that I still have all my toes things start getting better.
