How do you like to buy your rope?

I'm looking for some feedback.

How do you like to buy your climbing rope???

by the meter/foot?

or....

in pre-cut lengths?

And if in lengths....what range of standard lengths would you like to have the option of?

Usually about 160' and then have my homeboy splice them up.

I do 150 and 200 foot lengths tight eye spliced for standard lines and 300 foot static access lines.

My next line will be 200', and splice'n my own. At this point I dont climb on much less than my 150' ever. I like always being able to hit the ground on a rope, just in case.......

I prefer a 200 foot for large trees and a 60 footer for the medium to small.

I use 60', 90', 120', 150' and 200' ropes. I like working on as short a rope as I can safely get away with.

I buy them as short as 100', the shorter ones are cut downs from damaged ropes. I always add 10' to accomadate a splice and some milking. I splice my own eyes.

Never needed to buy a 600' spool but that would be the way to go if you have some other climbers to go in on one.

160' and then splice with assistance LOL for my standard life line. I also have a short line that is 90' ish and spliced. This line sees 70% of my climbing and I'm climbing in the PNW. Generally only break out the 150' for large deciduous trees ie. BL Maples and Cottonwoods.
