Planting / Horticulture Display Designer
A successful candidate will conceptualize innovative landscape planting designs, review contract documents and oversee the layout and installation of landscape development
for residential and commercial projects. Projects will be significantly weighted to perennial and annual gardens. Candidates should be able to understand plant performance in zone 4 – 10. This person could also oversee continued maintenance of projects if applicable.
Candidates should have extensive knowledge of herbaceous and woody plant material. Will be able to source plant material and garden amenities.
Will act as primary point of contact with clients but may also be expected to work on a team or provide support – will analyze needs and assess job sites, develop designs taking into consideration landscape features, buildings, climate,
future usage and other aspects.
Prepare or oversee preparation of plant lists, reports, sketches, and styling images.
Will create proposals; oversee design, installation and maintenance services.
Estimate costs, prepare specifications and evaluate for landscape planting projects.
Position requires strong written and oral communication skills.
Must have excellent organizational skills to be able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail.
Although CAD skills are not required, solid computer skills appropriate to business are needed.
Valid driver’s license required.
10 years experience required.
Minimum of Associates degree preferred.
