Honey Locust

This tree had 3 cables plus lightning protection and these three little obsticles.

All the material over the wires had to be drift lined to a lowering zone. We used 2 winches that came in very handy. One to control the load line and one for the drift.

That looks kind of sketchy so close to the wires. Could you have gotten the utility co. to brush it out for you? They do it here in NJ if its within 2 feet for free due to OSHA regs.
 
I would have liked that. The utility used to give us the 10' required. Now you need to call a 800 # and they might call you back in a few months.

It is quite discouraging. As the contracts change so does the service. A while back we had a few contact names with the line clearance contractor that was real easy. One call and the line would get cleared with in a week or two. Now no luck. The bad part is that untrained workers are geting too close.
