Home made friction saver

Hello Buzzers been a while since I've made my way back on the Buzz. Been reading the friction saver forum and found it interesting. You know i've been using 16 strand now for years and find it to be much easier to use than those ol stiff raw hide Bucks but each to thier own. I make them around 16" and overlap in the center and whip the splices since there shorter then suppose to be. Carabiner one side small ring on the other.
My adjustable, I have used double braid 1/2" spliced in small ring at one end, small prussik on the rope for adjustment with biner. Length of rope for my situation is about 8'to 12' usually when I'm doing conifers. 16 stand ropes work just as well.
is anyone opposed to using HRC or ultatech for friction savers ? I have used those as well. Just tie double fishermans at each end and hardware of choice. Light weight and durable.
Thanks
Greg

It's true. Chip is an entirely disagreeable person, prone to fits of rage and jealousy.

But he's a good road trip guy.

Kind of a weird dichotomy.

Seems like the jacket on HRC might be delicate for a friction saver but I don't know that for fact.

I know a guy who uses 3/8" 16 strand technora (Atlantic Braids Techline, I think)) for one. AB makes that same stuff with a jacket which might be good. The techline is a hollow braid so it's a snap to splice.
