Holiday Beer

[ QUOTE ]
I'll be drinking this on Christmas morning...... or is it afternoon, I'll never tell.

They do a 180 minute for christmas as well, that's seriously hopped up!

Ummm... I'll take some of that Yuengling.

That's right, my pallete is utterly un-sophisticated... makes eating and drinking cheap!

Me too Chip! I never met a Yeungling I didn't drink. In cans, it's my favorite boat beer.

Marlin, if you don't want to ship that Yuengling to Blinky or cerviarborist, I can drive across the river and pick it up.
I'll even come on a Friday and drag brush for you so I can partake in your company benefits.
Beer and a haircut, win - win.

I don't know how far it gets from TX, but I have been enjoying St Arnold's Christmas Ale from Houston. Also, Real Ale in Blanco produces a nice Coffee Porter this time of year--not really holiday themed, but a good choice for the colder weather. Sierra Nevada Celebration is supposed to be a can't-miss, but I've heard it's a bit off this year. Haven't tried any myself.

I don't drink a lot of seasonal specialty beers because some are just too heavily flavored for me.

I like beer to taste like beer.

I did have a Sam Adams Winter Lager recently that I thought was pretty good. It was hoppier then I expected.

One of my favorite beers is Otter Creek Copper Ale. It's not a seasonal specialty beer, just a good tasting, well made ale, in my opinion.

my sister inlaw lives like 10 minutes from the otter creek brewery. good times over there. barnhouse if you drag my brush you can have all the yangling you want.

I never heard of Yuengling until a friend told me about it last weekend. He said it's ridiculously good and wants me to pick some up in Tennesse on my way back from NC this Christmas. Apparently they don't sell it in KY. I figure the best thing would be to get some on my way to NC, test and enjoy while there and pick up mass amounts of it on the way back to KY. The more I like, the more I bootleg back. With the way y'all talk I'm sure I'll be getting plenty.

This time of year I'm happy with a good Bluemoon, but I love me some bourbon. Rolling Rock is a good cheap beer. Summertime I gotta have corona. Esp if in the sun by some water.

Local, local, local, I cannot say it enough drink what is close and you will get a good beer. Its going to be fresh and new and in style near you. If its not in the same state or even 50 miles find something closer, support your local brewers and the economy. Buy local for the love of God.

Lucky sister-in-law. I like Vermont, met some friendly people up that way. I've had many a good time there myself and drank plenty of Otter Creek at the various establishments on the Killington Access Road.

Marlin - Sounds like a deal. I'll hold off on the hair cut though until I see somebody with one first.

Jman - That's why I drink Yuengling, it's the closest "large" brewery. The actual closest brewery to me is Flying Fish, a "craft" brewery located in Cherry Hill. Their ESB Ale, Extra Pale Ale, and Hopfish IPA are all good beers. They make a seasonal Imperial Espresso Porter that comes out sometime in winter that I want to try.

I WILL be on the look out for this one. I LOVE dark beers mmmmmhmmm. Vicotry's storm king (imperial stout) is sooo good. Philadelphia's coffee joe porter is great too. Lancaster has a milk stout that is really good and pretty cheap to boot.
