Well I've never been to the White Mountains, but it certainly looks similar to these parts - I'm sure I'd feel right at home!
We haven't had much in the way of winters the past 10 yrs, but I reckon that'll change in a few years with so much fresh water pooling into the North atlantic.
Seems our peaks are around 1000ft lower than the white mountains, but we have some great rocky peaks with multi-pitch adventure climbs - this is the mecca of Trad climbing. It was the training ground for the 1953 Everest expedition. I think Tom has some pics from some famous signatures on the ceiling of the Hotel where they were based (at the foot of these peaks):
