Dear Fans:

As I am sure you have heard, the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players Association have reached an agreement in principle. Details of this agreement will not be made public pending the formal ratification process by the National Hockey League Board of Governors and the National Hockey League Players Association members.

It is anticipated that the ratification process will be completed next week, at which time we will be prepared to discuss the details of the Agreement and plans for the 2005-06 Season. Everyone here in the New Jersey Devils organization looks forward to sharing with you the return of Devils hockey.

Your patience, support, and understanding have been and will always be appreciated. Ticket information will be available shortly.

I was very excited to hear the news.

I remember seeing an article a couple of months ago about changing the shape of the goal. This would mean more goals and hopefully more fans. I havent heard anything about it since. I dont know if I would like it or not. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

they did a trial with ovoid sorta shaped nets, not gonna happen. but they goalie equipment is being shrunk again (to more normal size) and I think they are still contemplating the no touch offsides and removing the red line stuff. Oh well, lets see what happens in October, I am not too extctied yet, they took a year off, do we forgive and forget the overpaid players and owners so fast?
