Hitchclimber

I am trying the hitchclimber out, but it seems like there might be an issue, that the running line is running against the eye splice? On my normal system, the two ends are working side by side and therefore nut rubbing like here.
Is that a problem, and can I change the setup to improve it?

I was a little concerned about it at first but it's never been an issue whatsoever. When slack tending or making big fast moves it doesn't really seem to touch. Like JonTree said, you can clip into the middle hole and tweak a little bit away from the splice, I don't do that but it helps. I actually had this exact same conversation at work today with a guy who's getting into the HC, I told him not to worry, keep an eye on it of course, but don't worry.

Thanks.
I tried it again today. Honestly, I don't like it! :-)
It seems to be really hard to grib the running end of the rope, as it is really really close to the standing end, and it is behind the standing end. On a normal setup the lines are side by side.
Any cool ways of avoiding this?

You could use a swivel on the bridge of your saddle. If you're using a Rr FS for a primary TIP, it should orient the way you're hoping for. A swivel's nice anyway.

Yeah swivel awesome!

Keep trying, you'll get to loving it.
