Hitchclimber/homemade Cmi pulley wrench

Can i ask what this setup is intended for? A 3:1 MA? Ascender setup? Light rigging?

I apologize if i'm not seeing it, somewhat new to intricate climbing setups..

EDIT: is that micro pulley customized, sheave removed & pins in place for friction? Noticed the bend in the rope & it didn't look right above the micro.. Curious

Hey Climber429,
It is just a climbing spin-off of the Rig N Wrench concept. If you look at that thread, this might make more sense, of course the pics being sideways probably don't help with the confusion...
Also the micro pulley is modified, the sheave is moved from center hole to one of the rear hole and a slice pin is added to make it act like a wrench. Not my idea, I saw it somewhere a couple of years ago.

Pretty sweet! I love the way ideas are always brought up on this site. Alot of imagination and talent making breakthroughs on some really cool pieces of gear!

Sometimes when I climb with a hitch and pulley the lack of friction at the TIP causes binding and excessive wear on the hitch cord. Keep in mind that most of the time I go SRT, but sometimes I like messing with Ddrt techniques and other times I don't know what the hell I'm doing....

Gotcha. I only ever experienced that ddrt when I had a friction saver with a pulley, I really did not like that setup. With a ring and ring or natural crotch I always had plenty of friction up top, I don't weigh much though.

The cmi pulleys are fun to mess about with, I made this up the other day, still dialing in the tether length and what not. I'm hoping someone can make me a custom piece for this setup but this will do for now.

Unless the tether being attached to the side throws everything off
It does a bit, I haven't used it enough to say it's a problem though. The custom pulley that Jmerritt showed in the rig n wrench thread is close to what I'm looking for, just with closed cheeks.
