Hitch Hiker X ????

That is the second one I have seen. There has been only one for a few months now. My guess is that if now there are two, there may be a few more if not very soon than soon.

I discovered how much I liked a shakle on the HH but gave up trying to get a locking one built because of the cost.
The HH is a beautiful thing with a shakle, hope we see a new version with this new Slic Pin concept

Looks good Rich, 2 questions though....is that the standard RR slick pin and can it be used up top with any eye to eye to replace the bone and tieing knots?
Couple of things would have to be resolved to use this shackle to replace the dog bone. One is the diameter of the pin and the mated slot. Two, it would change the compactness, friction and likely the balance of that hitch.
HH1 or 2 will not work as demonstrated here.

I look forward to how this works out for you, Richard. Paul did have an early prototype with a shackle and quick release pushbutton pin. It was fine on the ground but in-tree transfers were horrible. With the carabiner, you could connect and disconnect with one hand and still have the HH and carabiner as one unit. With the shackle, once disconnected, you have three separate pieces. Not only does this increase the possibility of accidentally dropping a part, it made reconnecting tricky, especially when the climbing line is pulling off at an angle.

Well other than sticking my neck out, there is not much for me to work out. I think it's a beauty with this Slic Pin but yes, not my call. Guess since Rope Runner days I've gotten use to parts and really think there is an easy fix for that.
