Hiring in WASHINGTON | $30-40/HR | Arborist Climber | Greater Seattle

Blue Ribbon Tree, Renton WA, just outside Seattle. Looking for a full-time climber.

Short version of who we are: 25 years in business, 75% repeat, two owner-operators bought the company recently and are running it themselves. Not PE, not a rollup. We're growing and we're building the crew up rather than flipping the company.

$30–40/hr DOE. W-2, year-round, OT and storm work. PTO and paid holidays. Phone stipend. Primary PPE and tools provided, climbing gear provided or gear allowance. We pay for CPR/First Aid and we pay for ISA certification — CTW or CA, your call which one first. If you carry TRAQ you earn off the assessments you do.

What I'd want you to know before you reach out. Our climbers work the ground too — brush, chipper, cleanup — and the whole crew does gear and truck upkeep at the end of the day. If you've been somewhere climbers don't touch that, it's a change. Also 7:00 start at the yard, M–F, occasional weekend storm work.

What you get in exchange: nobody standing underneath second-guessing your rigging plan. You make the call and you explain your reasoning, and that's the end of it. Our crew leads sit in on how the company gets run — scheduling, equipment, safety standards, hiring. Path from climber to running your own crew is real and it's short.

Two years climbing or ten, we're open. No cert required to talk. SRT and DdRT, throwline, you work clean, you know species and how they fail.

Straight talk: no health plan or 401(k) yet. Working on health coverage for early next year. Not going to pretend otherwise.

Happy to answer anything here or by email. hello@blueribbontree.com

A refreshingly honest and candid job posting, thank you for that! Good luck to you finding somebody, hope that you do, but don't steal them from us.

Stick around here a while too, don't just post and go, you might make some friends and learn some things.
