Hey all, I am the owner of a 3 year old tree service based in Washougal, WA. I'm looking to hire a full time groundsperson and a climber who would like to work with a small crew. We usually run 3 guys including myself (I'm our only climber currently). We do a nice variety of work from urban lots around Portland and Vancouver to more rural jobs where we're doing more falling and land clearing type work. We're pretty heavy on removals but do a good bit of pruning as well. Our equipment (a chip truck with diesel BC1000XL, CTX100 mini skid, 1 ton with dump trailer, and a flatbed) are older but pretty well maintained. Our bread and butter is residential work but we do occasionally get some municipal work with local cities and counties which is prevailing wage. We do not currently offer benefits but our pay is generally better than the average local tree service. We're small, not corporate. I'm happy to discuss a monthly stipend if you're running your own gear.
Groundsperson: $20-$25 per hour DOE
- at least 6 mo. experience preferred
- must be able to drag brush and feed a chipper for long hours
- ability to run a mini skid is a huge plus
- driving 22K chip truck and being able to back a trailer is a huge plus (clean driving record!)
- knowledge of basic knots and rigging is a huge plus
Climber/faller: $35-$40 per hour DOE
- at least 2 years experience climbing
- must have your own climbing gear (I'm happy to provide extra ropes/rigging/saws/etc.)
- driving trucks and trailers is a must (ability to drive a manual is a huge plus!)
- must have some experience rigging
- must be willing to work the ground and run equipment
- ability/desire to be a foreman is a must
- ISA cert is a huge plus
Getting in touch through our website is probably best but I'll be checking here as well.
