Hickory nut beetles

I am not familiar with the life cycle of beetles that has larvae that feed on Hickory nuts. A client contacted me and said that they noticed alot of damage on their Hickory nuts this year and they noticed the larvae crawling around and going into the ground. They state that they started having a mole problem after they noticed this problem and they said that they haven't had moles for 5-6 years. They are wondering if there is anything that I can do to help with this problem.
