Awhile back I think I remember you saying you use a steel biner in your climbing set up cuz it's wieght makes it easier to toss up with your line. I was wondering if you could tell me which biner you use, and maybe post a picture of your saddle/hitch/biner setup??

I didn't PM this cuz perhaps others may find some interest in this idea.

Thanks, Blink.

I can't tell you exactly what I use because it's not, um, strictly, according to the Z. But yeah, I use a steel biner likesay, a triple locking hard D (not an HMS) on the spliced end of my lifeline so I can toss it further. It's pretty easy to make 20' throws that way but you don't want to do it unless the crotches are smooth and twig free.

As long as you're OK with the biner hanging up every once in a while... usually requiring some creative climbing, it's a good thing. I've taken to using and aluminum biner when I don't need to throw my line much or very far, it just keeps the harness bridge a little more manageable.

Jr's team beat the the county middle school lacrosse dynasty today. The team hasn't lost a single game in six years... until today. We went to the ACC Finals, UNC vs. Duke, that was a helluva good game... except Dook won.

I'm not with the Z police, so no worries. So is the split tail tied into that biner as well or is it tied off elsewhere?

Ya that Duke/UNC game was awesome on TV. Costibile is the freshman pole from CT, getting MVP is pretty amazing. I saw him play 1x in HS, he absolutely tore it up.

Taking out the dynasty must mean Jr's team is cranking up one of their own??

I'll shoot a picture later but I have a BFII with two aluminum rings in the bridge (same size as the small ring on a FS). One is for the end attachment (steel biner), the other is for my split tail. Using the rings keeps the split tail biner and pulley oriented right.

It was interesting that Duke worked hard to beat Carolina after pretty much mopping the floor with Virginia.

I gotta post some pics of the little man, he's really shaping up on D.
The HS coach wants him on Varsity as a freshman. He's playing lots of club ball this year too. We're gonna get him looked at... I'm thinking UNC or Hopkins. I could talk about this all day. My kids make me so damn proud.

You'd ship[ him off to Baltimore? Nice campus, but 6 hrs drive..Your kid's a lot younger than mine, but i remember him outworking them.

Anyway, are you sure your rig is noncompliant? I'll loan you my Z sometime--you may not be as much a rebel as you think!

Nice to see a father going on with pride about his youngsters achievements, that and lacrosse is an old favorite of mine for sentimental reasons(my father loved it, played as a youth).
Give that young man a SOLID slap on the back from all your brothers here at TB.
Have a good day guys,
-Grais.

OK, I'll admit it, I use a screwlock, a steel screwlock. I had a tri-locking hard D but lost it. It's been a good biner so far.
