Here's a good one!

Re: Here\'s a good one!

They think that they can get steak prices for range-fed beef :)

There are some defects in the bark that look like they would translate into lumber defects.

Keep us posted Eric. What's your opening bid? :)

A guy called me a number of years ago and asked if I was interested in cutting down a walnut tree. Here's the dialog:

Of course, that's what I do for a living. I'll stop and give you and estimate.
No, you cut the tree and keep the wood.
Why would you want to cut down a walnut.
I sold the house and I don't want the new people to have the tree.
Is there anything wrong with the tree? Cracked, broken, dead?
Nope, perfectly healthy.
You have no right to cut down healthy trees. Large trees belong in the city and have more value as trees than as lumber.
You're telling ME that I can't cut down my own tree?
Yup, you're WRONG!
Click :)

It sure is nice to be self-employed

Re: Here\'s a good one!

It is more of an "Indian Earth" idea of ownership; that the trees are a loss to everyone if gone.

"We do not inherit them from our parents;
but rather borrow them;
from our children"

A lil'counterintuitive as Murphy4Trees would say;
but true to me, nonetheless. (Of course!)

i think the system knows were it is going;
and draws things to that point.
So the lysdexic view is befitting sometimes;
to help alleviate the paradigms we've seen possible,
and that we have seen exploded in our time.

Re: Here\'s a good one!

I could not resist the oportunity to send a question to this.....Individual to see if this guy is real. Here is my question and his responce. This guy is either on drugs or suffers fron some mental illness. There is probably enough nails from yard sale signs in those trees to build a barn.

Dear hammer-dog,

You asked:
"Tell me. Is this a joke?"

Hi, No this is really not a joke. Quality Black Walnut is in very high demand by craftsmen, gun makers, furniture makers and others. Thanks, David
