Help With NewTribe saddle Selection

I am on the verge of purchasing a New Tribe saddle however having trouble deciding between the Tengu and the ProGear. I am trying to keep cost as low as possible and I like aspects of both saddles. I like the leg release of the tengu and the price but I like the medal d's of the progear

I climb for work and Rec using DDRT, SRT and spike my removals. I rarely carry a saw bigger then a 200t once in a while a husky 346xp

any help on which would be a better choice?

thanks.

I don't know if you noticed, but they have a "VI Special" saddle in their "specials" section for $175.

I use their work model at work right now since my other saddle has a part on recall. If you like the metal rings, then I would check out the VI or go with the Progear, and you can always ask them to do some custom work to suit your needs, they're pretty great when it comes to that. Personally, for a work saddle, the large leg pads that cannot be tightened are a really nuisance. And definitely upgrade to the Pear connecting link from the Delta.

Hope this at least gives you a little help!

Give them a call. I hear they are good with customizing. I don't think it would take much to put either quick releases on the ProGear or Medal D's on the Tengu. Personally i tried that Tengu and like it. I liked the soft D's. Maybe go to the TCIA Expo and see if someone has them at a booth and try them on.

I have a saddle I special ordered from them that I don't use. I would be willing to sell it. I don't even think it is dirty. Metal rings, quick release leg straps, and sewn gaps for biners on the waist belt . PM me if you want some pics.

I have the Tengu and it has always been a solid saddle for me. I mostly climb ddrt but some srt and some spikes. I have been in spikes with a Stihl 660 hanging on my side and the saddle was still as comfy as always. I really like the soft d's and the quick connect leg loops. I say go for the Tengu or the new floating bridge saddle. That saddle rocks!

There is no way in the world that any of my Buckingham saddles were even close to the NT in terms of comfort. As far as durability goes, My Tengu is 3 years old and still looks basically brand new.

I have a komet BFII which I am happy with but its getting old and I am looking for more comfort. I'm not a fan of buckingham saddles. Thanks for all the replys
