Hi Everyone. As we all know, we lost a wonderful friend and industry leader in Bruce Smith recently. Bruce didn't want a funeral, rather a celebration to be held at his favorite botanical garden. I want to make this happen. Check out this link and help if you can. It doesn't matter how much you give, it only matters that you lend a helping hand for a good cause. Thank you.

ALS is a rough way to go.. there is a theory in medicine that ALS and many other "conditions" like chronic fatigue, lupus, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and other auto immune diseases, are in part caused by lyme or other co-infections from tick borne illness...

the below quote is referring to chronic fatigue from this link: http://www.envita.com/lyme-disease/...algia-autoimmune-disease-chronic-lyme-disease

We have clinically determined that these patients usually have a group of viral, bacterial, parasitic and fungal infections that make up what we call Lyme Disease Complex. Some patients may or may not have actual Lyme disease but may have another type of tick-borne illness along with a host of co-infections that have brought about immunological, hormonal, and neuroendocrine changes. -

If any of you are experiencing auto -immune symptoms, and have tested negative from lyme, the video on this page is worth a look.. It provides a brief explanation of why there are so many false negatives in the cdc recommended tests..

I want to thank the few that have already donated. Everyone else please don't wait. Bruce had a wish that we would honor is life and wonderful accomplishments by getting together in his favorite gardens. Let's make it happen. Just donate $5, $10 whatever. You can do it anonymously or leave a comment and your name. It's all appreciated and is a great use of a few bucks. You will feel good when you do.

We are doing good with our progress. Thanks to all that have supported the event! I hope you all can make it to the celebration in person. Anyone reading this and on the fence about sending a few bucks don't be. Imagine If something unfortunate occurred in your life. Wouldn't you feel better knowing that your community (TreeBuzz, the tree care profession) stood up for you and helped your loved ones fulfill one of your last wishes? Please consider sending $10 even. It all adds up. Thanks!

We now have over 7800 members. If everyone gave just $1.00 we would exceed our goal of making Bruce's wish a reality. It's a painless process to give a buck or two I promise they make it very easy. I'll check back in a few. Thanks for considering it all.

I want to thank everyone that has donated so far. It is so amazing that you have taking the time and found it in your heart to support a fellow arborist ' s dream like this. I know more are going to do the same. Thank you!

Thanks! I hope more of you decide to chip in a couple of bucks. We should do this for all of our sake. I also hope a ton of you show up to celebrate. The community that we are a part of is what truly separates us from other industries.

Thank you all. Keep it coming. Just to be clear, every dollar raised will go to help offset the costs of fulfilling Bruce ' s wish for a celebration for all of us to come together and if there is any left over it will go to Lita to help her start to dig out from under the medical bills that piled up. It's all appreciated- every dollar!

Hi gang. The fundraiser for Bruce's celebration is going to be closing in about a week. If you are on the fence about sending a couple of dollars now's the time to get off of the fence. Trust me when I say that this is a truly worthy cause that should make you feel good to be a part of. Send $5, $10, $1000....whatever. It is the spirit of what our community is all about; to help one another when needed. Bruce helped so many and I am glad to be able to help fulfill his wish and hope that you will do the same. This website has a huge potential to do good deeds beyond helping to share information and innovations. We can use it to directly help our own people. Bruce was a member here for years under the name Silverback. That fit him so well. Anyway, please consider helping me create this celebration and hopefully help lessen the financial burden on the wife he left behind, Lita. Thanks for reading this.

Thanks for posting Mark. I've been super busy and forgot about this Ill get on it. We should all do what we can even if its only a little. Maple sap drips one drop at a time but those drops add up to a lot. I also encourage others to do what they can.
