Tom that's hilarious, but Troy's locks are slim and half a foot past his shoulder not too bulky like this cat, I am swaying toward Petzl vent maybe? Paul.

There is probably no helmet that works with the dreads all bunched up on the head. As long as he is willing to tie it back pony tail style I think most helmets would work.

My thinking exactly I was just fishing for ideas, one of my groundies uses one of my Kasks and he has thick plaited hair, which is fairly long. When I start back work in the New Year I think I will test Troy in the other Kask I have. Hopefully that will work otherwise I will have to get the Petzl Vent. Thanks everyone. Paul.

I remember Petzls feeling different than Kask, and chose the Kask just for the headband adjustment alone. What's it called..."up n' down" or something? Anyway, my $0.02 is that the Kask was the first helmet on which the headband could lower enough onto my dome so that I didn't have to crank it too tight. Maybe a head full of hair could benefit from that. My brother's head size rivals Kevin Mench's, and he digs the Kask, too.

Makes sense etree and as I have three Kasks laying around, I had always intended to give them each one but getting these dudes to wear PPE is like pulling teeth but they are slowly coming around and now I have one of them wearing it, the other seems keen. So when I get back from holidays He wears one no matter what. If the Kask fits well I will have saved some cash. Paul.

i got em and i rock vertex vent... all i ever tried but it's so customizable in so many ways (depth of webbing, front, back, tightness) it'll fit over anything.

although there are some ways to tie dreads on your head that should be ANSI rated!
