Helmet discussion

I wear the petzl vertex vent, but when I put the muffs on with my safety glasses it lets a bit more sound in... Any helmets that don't do this? I want a little saw sound coming in my ears as possible.

Ear buds block sound the best in my opinion but I like muffs better.
What kinda muffs you have? Some sort of 3M set or regular ones off like a husquavarn forestry helmet

Protos with integrated eyepro works the best for me.

I really like the Kask with dark smoke visor and 3M Peltor earmuffs. Some think it's a bit heavier than Petzl, but virtually impervious to any high decibels from a saw!

Spark plug? Brand ear plugs are rated for like 33dB. That said I've used 3m muffs in the tree and never had an issue with my glasses.

Muffs+plugs for the win, as per Jeff Jepson. I rock both whenever I am chipping or cutting for longer than a minute or two. The army took enough of my high frequency hearing as it is.
