heated handles

I put some on my snowmobile. I don't have a battery on my machine so it runs off the spark electrics. I'd bet there'd be some pipe wrap that would work on a saw. But if you need heated handles on a saw your not working hard enough. How's that government job going?

Limbchop-

Going well.8 months now. Should be getting my CDL this next month driving a 59' truck/ trailer combo. Don't relish my first trip through Seattle rush hour with the lil' skidder on board.

Yesterday we knocked down 14 dead,big-ish doug-firs at a park in a root pocket. One was a two-fer. Tree knocked another over, uprooting it. Sometimes surprising what can be banged over backward with enough wedges and swings.

Finished the day crashing a 40"x160' dead grand fir.

Did 24 dead DF in the same root disease pocket last week. We'll be back for more, certainly. Some established maple and small cedar will start to take off.

Next week, some pruning and hazard removals in up near the Canadian border.

Its a good gig! No bidding. Other people pay for the maintenence/ repairs. I get paid to do some of that. Good equipment goes a long way, too.

I've wondered the same in the past SS, and I think they are electric heaters. I don't understand how electric stuff works, but if you study this parts diagram:

you can see a heating "element" in the parts list. I always thought it was diverted exhaust, myself. Learn something every day, huh?

By the way, partstree.com is the BOMB for buying new Husqy parts. Fast service, and you can do it yourself, without going to the dealer, or getting the wrong part.

Having owned a few 372 xpg saws I can tell you that it doesn't matter how they work. They aren't useful at all. There is no appreciable warming. They do heat the carburetor which is helpful when cutting all day in snow but as long as youre not burying you saw in the snow it really isn't a problem anyway.

Also if you need a part for the xpg, the shops never stock them so you'll just end waiting or just putting an xp part in instead and disabling the heating system.

Thats just what I think.

I do like the diverted exhaust systems better then the new ones on my xpg.

The diverted exhaust system style goes to both handles by 2 tubes one for each handle. No carb heat. Also on my 346xpg no carb heat since I am using a 357 carb on it.
