this is the last hand saw u will ever need, get the notch leg mount for it and youll be in love, the leg mount goes right on top and bottom of my spur pad and keeps it right where its easy to grab and put away in any position im in, ill never use anything else
dont forget to use the coupon code freeship or online to get free shipping or 7% off, u can only use 1 code so see which saves u more, for most stuff under $100 its usually free shipping since for me at least the shipping is around 6-8 buks for smaller stuff. if u spend over 100 u can get free shipping and 7% off

The silky sheaths are uncomfortable when strapped on my leg. Consider the notch talon or the other system out there to help achieve a better fit on your leg.
i love the talon, holds it perfectly but the only issue i had was the rubber saw strap broke easily but it was long enuff to still use

One word.....prosenti....straight blade over curved anyday....course teeth with fine at the end.....I have owned all you guys mentioned and for a mixed bag this is king...but really it is personal.....sharpening is silly just chuck when spent and fire away with a new one...I just buy new saws all together....my scabbards are so tired after killing a blade....usually lasts a season....I do lots of pruning with large removals in between...so that is why this saw is gold for me...for finishing cuts on a top a straight egde rules.... @rico might disagree with those monster conifers but for big tropical hardwoods I love this saw.....

Curved blades should bite harder and cut with less effort. Straight blades are better at shaping face cuts and creating hinges. They are also easier to use for stretching way out and just using the tip for small cuts. On some, you can also return the blade to the scabbard facing either direction. I have found that to be a boon for my straight tsurugi. I used to rock the curved blades. I just didn't really perceive enough benefit to stick with the curved saws.

If you're actually noticing differences in your work day based on the shape of your blade, you can probably answer those questions yourself. It's not like a huge deal (for me, anyway) by any stretch.

You gotta be quick with Amazon, apparently. I just placed an order for another Tsuruig 452-30 for $45 (its to keep in another vehicle...I swear this isn't an addiction!). Clicked on the link to post here so others could order and price is back over $60. You can set price alerts at camelcamelcamel. They also have price tracking, and it looks like it was actually less than that for much of the second half of next year...

Got my shipping notice for the saw I ordered... It is coming from Bailey's  I don't see the model on their website (or any Tsurugi saws - only 2 replacement blades). Must have been unloading extras on Amazon. If I knew I could have gotten it straight from them for the same price and shipped free, I certainly would have - but I probably would have been too late in the line!!

They do have a 200mm medium teeth replacement blade for $20. If it where shipped for free.... the shorter blade would be nice though, and I could use a handle I already have. ..... Never mind, I'd want it in a short scabbard to go with the short blade. Great deal if anybody else has the 200mm and needs a blade!
