Grillion vs. ART Positioner

Trying to decide here between the Grillion and ART. Can some of you more experienced fellows advise as to the difference in actual use between the two? Is one easier to operate than the other? Is one overall better than the other or both about the same with regards to being able to adjust the length while still maintaing pressure on the lanyard?

I've only used the Grillon a little. The action takes more hand movement to allow slack out. It's also much bigger. I like how small the Positioner is and how little it takes to allow slack.

I own both. The Positioner is my personal favorite. The P. is more compact (it doesn't have a large 'handle' like the G.) and smaller overall than the G. With the P. it is easy to shorten your lanyard with the lanyard at various angles. The G. has a limited area in which it is easy to shorten the lanyard.

Both required (for me) some use before I found the right touch to lengthen the lanyard.

I also find that I need to have some type of rubber band on the P. Like the wire on the Microcender and Microjuster, the rubber band keeps just a little bit of tension on the lanyard so that the lanyard doesn't 'self-adjust' as you move through the tree. Other people say that the rubber band on their P. fell off long ago and they have not noticed a difference.

Since it is an option, I'll also mention that I prefer a snap, rather than a carabiner, on the working end of both lanyard systems.

I used the Positioner for about 2 months. A while in to it, the rubber band fell off and I noticed a huge difference! When not holding my weight, it only took a very gentle tug to lengthen the lanyard. If I went back to it, I'd keep the rubberband on it!

In the last version of the positioner (I just saw it in Maastricht), Hurbert has greatly improved the quality of the rubber ring and the way it's attached to the device. I guess it shouldn't fall off so easily anymore.
