green ash in detroit

I am moving a thread started in general discussion over here regarding green and white ash tolerance to EAB. somebody in chicago was claiming that white ash are more tolerant etc. These are pictures of green ashes that seem to be coming through the infestation. Whites are much rarer to find in health. This is a green ash at a customers yard that has never been treated with chemicals until this last week when whe decided that she wanted to give it a little boost to get through the heavy EAB presence in SE michigan.

here is an street green ash on a dusty polluted busy street in detroit. I can not imagine it has ever been injected. This was the tree in best health on that street. Others were struggling

here is the white ash in the best condition I have seen in central detroit, and it doesnt look that good. It is amazing that there are still some leaves at the tips and not a whole lot of sucker growth, which is the normal dying process.

are you talking about resistance or tolerance, these are two different things?

i guess i would say tolerance. explain. they do have eab and are a little sick, but they are tolerating the attack and staying alive
