Greasing a nose sprocket

How do you spot a lawn guy who just bought a chainsaw and now offers tree trimming services? Listen for the high pitched whine as the chain runs like a bowstring over the sprockets:) Based on a true story.

I've encountered many greases, tacky etc but the NLGI number is a huge game. In some gear sets 00 is run and it's like butter on a hot day. Never found any 0 grease yet but my NLGI1 grease is way more pliable than the typically found chassis/wheelbearing NLGI2 commonly sold. I figure there ought to be some knowledge out there about recommended grease for a bar tip if so recommended. ?
