Two years ago my local Stihl dealer was vandalized and the entire showroom stock of saws - including five 200's from the stock room - were stolen. The owners of this biz, also a Ford/NewHolland and Case/International dealership, are exceptional people, treating their employees with the highest respect and promoting wonderful customer service. One of the partners died recently from cancer treatments and at his funeral I talked with the detective assigned the case. He was clueless to date and had spent little - if any - time on recovery or investigation. Figures, he's a Bush fanatic thinking himself a front-line vangaard against Islamic terror. In other words a complete idiot.
I'd like to read the serial numbers of saws posted for sale, or if we could mandate these numbers to be shown it would be good for us, the true owners, and our industry. If there is no reason to hide numbers, then no harm done.
Just a little two cent's worth of opinion.
