Good boots fir climbing with spurs

I've tried the red wings, but they were like boat anchors. I tried a pair of comfort core logger boots by Georgia Boot and they were comfortable straight out of the box. Only downside in my opinion is that they wear out rather quickly.

I don't mean to jump off topic but I would like to know if anyone knows of any steel toed boots good for foot locking. I climb with RedWing loggers and the rope always slips through when try to foot lock with them. Got to have steel toes at my job.

another vote for hoffmans.

12" leather vibram.
i too have been waiting for fucking ever for my nick's boots to show up and we'll see how they compare.

i prefer climbing in heavy leather loggers to your those hiking booties any day.
My nicks arrive Monday. I ordered in march.

got my nicks today. they're beautiful.
just beautiful.

hey Magnum783, how goes your break in?

seem like it'll be fun.

they're serious tough as hell stomping boots.

both pair of hoffman rebuilds look great.

it's been warm enough that i'm still wearing my warm weather 12" leathers.

the rebuild on the leathers is great.

Just oiled them up last night, haven't even worn them having shoulder surgery Friday so it will be a while before that even happens.

Hoffman 12" vibram workboots
Nick's 12" SteelToes
Hoffman 14" SteelToe Thinsulate Vibram
Hoffman 14" SteelToe FeltPac

The Nick's are breaking in nicely. I'm doing the recommended alcohol water spray and it's working great.
Nick's says 80 to 100 hrs for breakin. When I broke in the leather Hoffman's I bet it was something along those lines..

Today however, the 12" Hoffman' have busted out an eyelet in the ankle.
Bummer. I think that means they're toast.

Chippewas provide great comfort, last forever, and don't break the bank. They also aren't calf huggers, which I can't stand...sorry Wesco!

The 12'' Hoffmans don't count on the scale .... half the material is still up in the trees. Looks like they have served you well.

I bought Chip's, they've been much better than what I had.
I sport a pair of Chips when on a heavy schedule of removals. They wear well for the money, and I can walk in and buy them locally. There are Chinese knock offs also. They just don't last as long. I tend to wear hiking style boots most of the time and have no problem adorning spurs with them but, like I said, when doing a full day of removals I reach for the Chips. Enjoy yours .... they are good for the money without a doubt!
