going to buy a new chipper

I'm in the market as well. My research tells me diesel. It sounds like diesel is the way to go for "long-term" success. Maintenance will always be a factor, however, Bandit seems to be a common top choice. Hope this helps! Keep us posted on what you choose.

After owning our gas 12 XPC for 7 months now I can say its the best machine we have ever owned after upgrading from our 1964 Asplundh whisper. Ours has the ford 2.5 liter gas and is just as good as thr diesel models. And isn't a fuel drinker either, she sips gas. I only hope to upgrade the manual turn chute to power rotate in the future.

Congrats dude, yeah everyone has to get over the gas engine stigma, I have 3 gas chippers now, no more diesels. They all chip amazing, no loss of power, simple maintenance no tier 4 BS. Couldn’t be happier with them all.

These engines are so fine tuned the performance is excellent. Eventually we will be upgrading from our 3500hd and our next truck will be gas as we are tired of diesel fuel and thr expenses of a diesel engine.

Only thing that sucks about gas is going to the gas station. my 18xp gas job is a beast. I have a diesel tank at my house so I get annoyed when I have to go to the gas station to fill it. Otherwise, they are just way cheaper. 480 hours in and very happy
