I have a 2001 GMC 7500 bucket truck. Electric nightmare. Radiator was $750 and 2 weeks. Rear main went out on rebuilt motor at under 15k miles. Runs weird some days but it does have rear disc brakes. The 7.4 in it w/ 5 speed makes 3 mpg.

junk motor. old asplundh truck probably. likely on its last leg and will cost you lots in repairs.

4 mpg empty highway, 3 or less pulling a trailer. Empty weight is 20k, needs fuel everyday

I have a 97 F700 w/429 gasser makes 4mpg with trailer - 13k empty weight

We have phased out the f700 for an older diesel f800 with a much improved 12mpg loaded but have a couple of more years before we can update the bucket truck

I'll second the 3, maybe 4 mpg if your empty. When I had this I averaged 5.25 mpg with the same motor and an automatic.
