Globe 3000

Hi all!
Does anyone know anything about splicing globe 3000, the bridge found on the treemotion saddle? I've done searches online and cannot find any splicing instructions....as far as I can tell its a 24 strand cover, but has an intermediate sheath and a dyneema core. Anything special about splicing this stuff? I'm all fids........lol!
Thanks!

I couldn't find any info about it either. Until this thread I also thought it wasn't hand spliceable.

I didn't see anything on the FSE Robline/teufelberger site or catalog. You'll probably have to contact them directly. If you do be sure to post back what they say.

I'm curious, what are you making?

I've spliced it up using a class 2 db. The intermediate sheath around the core I just cut so that it was trapped by the stitching and didn't milk down the rope. It's a actually a really easy rope to splice. I did a very long bury just to be on the safe side even though the splice was primarily for attaching to a throw line during installation..but it would also get used as a floating attachment point for a cocoon or similar.

Just use ocean polyester or the new larger diameter beeline. We should check with the manufacturer, but a proper core to core class II splice will involve a really long bury. OP is properly spliced with more "standard" tail lengths and beeline can be a shorter locked Brummell with an exposed eye and still be in compliance with the mfrs recommendations.

Have a look at this. Velocity makes a good lightweight lanyard. Slick setup, you can use a krab instead of the snap biner and you can add a DMM thimble if you want a choke SRT setup. Options options. Strong and abrasion resistant. You can also use the rated becket of the pinto as another option. Me I like mine basic and it works for me, this one is twelve feet after the splices were done. No getting caught in tight crotches either. Compliments of my friend Eric's splicing talent. Got me four of this style and one longer for a krab setup. Did I say I love them.

For those of you who are interested, I did find some instructions to splice this stuff on the teufelberger website, under high tech cordage splice. Instructions are in German with English subtitles (thank goodness), and it was indeed a peculiar splice (in my limited experience) for core-dependent rope, which is what globe is.
Cheers
Ben
