Giant Crab Apple?

Not exactly a climbing tree, but I thought some of you might be interested.

The flowers were a pale pink and I swear this thing was 50 feet across if it was an inch, not to mention 30 feet tall at least. Any ideas about it beyond crabapple? I've never seen another one that big, usually they are really small.

I think you need to go back with a long tape measure and a camera. sounds like a cool find.

I've seen them that big. Rarely, but it happens.

We have an apple out here that is about 50' tall and 30' spread. About 24" dbh. A really cool tree. It had been topped in the past at about 30' the cuts they made were like 16" in diameter.
