fun day today trimming royal palms

worked on a nice property today with 6 beautiful cuban royal palms that needed seed pods removed and a few dead fronds taken out. made $200 in less then 3 hours of super chill work. anyway back on track. if you dont know how to use SRT i will share with you a fun floating false crotch system to use.

gear needed,
2 climbing lines
3 carabiners
2 micro pulleys
2 prussik cord
1 eye sling.

ok so you throw your throw line or big shot it over the palms crown top then you untie your bag, tie climbing line to throw line and pull through the crown your climbing line until the end comes to the ground. you then take a carabiner and tie a triple fishermans, attach carabiner to the loop, clip micropulley to the carabiner and then run your second climbing Ddrt into the pully. go back to the other side and hoist it into the palm crown to the verry top where it should snag against the upper fronds. take your sling wrap it around the trunk of that palm or a near by tree, clip a carabiner into the eye sling then tie your prussik on to the tail end of the line set over the palm. pull the slack out as much as you can. harness up, clip into your Ddrt system and away you go!. PS CAREFULL WHERE YOUR HANDSAW IS at all times. double and triple check that you are not gonna slice into your line.

ya man...no more blind cutting with that line in the head. Damn bro, go get the go pro so wee can see some tree work done from paradise. Im dying to see helmet cam footage of a coconut palm. Date palm seed pods(dates) can be 50-60 pounds...EACH! What the hell does a pod of fully grown coconuts weigh? Holy hell! Palm work is the hardest thing I have done so far. Not all of it...but some of it has just been an undescribable hell..for me anyways
