Well, I rather suspected that if Carnival and other cruise ship corporations begged and whined enough to the Chief Cheesepuff, they'd get 'em some bailout bucks... and sure enough, they did.
Arison is the chairperson of the Carnival Corporation and a longtime sponsor of Donald Trump’s career. After all of this bailout talk, Fortune reports that the “Miami-based” but Panama-incorporated company has no plans to come back to America and, you know, pay some taxes. Why should they when they’re already getting the “America First” treatment?
I can't help but wonder how long it will be before we have a bailout/relief package ready for drug cartels and foreign dictators. I mean, Jong-un might be sick and need funding for some surgery or a nuclear bomb. Pharmaceutical companies and other drug dealers are probably having a hard time selling hydroxychloriquine these days, they could use 'em some bailout bucks, too!
Texas, Florida and Lousianna are complaining that they shouldn't be forced to spend taxpayer money bailing out blue states... yet, all three of those red states received the bulk of bipartisan hurricane relief/bailout money that was voted for by all Democrats, and opposed by 58 Republicans.
I was always under the impression that if you had moral and ethical reasons for not paying a dime for charity, that those same moral and ethical reasons should prevent you from accepting charity.
