They just did that in London this year too.

This one was fully organised via facebook so there was no announcments made before hand, just turn up and freeze when you hear a trumpet or something, so no knew how many other people around them were going to join in.

The idea that a big group of people freezing on the spot is somehow entertaining is a sad inditement of 21st century life. Its like the entire human race has run out of ideas so it's just gonna freeze on the spot till some exterior force kicks it's collective arse. Its post post modern nihilism with a dada twist that aint funny or clever.

Is it art? If so then let it be. Art for art sake (non profit, and with a nameless artist(s) ) is more artistic than the kind of rubbish that sells for thousands but only if the "artists" thinks your worthy of owning there rubbish.

Like pavement art, other than tips, theres no money in it and the next rain will wash it away.
