frog walker with rope wrench

Try using a push bike inner tube around your shoulders with a small wire gate biner, remember to cut off the valve...lol

you can also run a cord from the back of the saddle over your shoulder with a mini biner on the end.

try clipping the mini-biner onto the wrench tether instead of the pulley - it lifts the pulley and the RW at the same time.

thank you fellas - makes sense. More practice for me - how about a dead arbutus over the service wires, in the rain, on a holiday monday? Oh yeah. . .

Kevin will jump in on this too, but I'm thinking when i took a fall on the RW, it was partially because I clipped it exactly like you said, and when I tipped back a bit, it pulled the wrench out not letting it engage fully...lesson learned ;)

O, fascinating - good to keep an eye on. I have been clipping into the tether on the ascent and unclipping for work, then lifting the RW into descent position.

I got the quick-release pin just a few climbs ago, so I am still adapting to that - it is a little looser on the rope than i had become accustomed to. Seems to slip down more easily, as one can't tighten it down as much.

i just beer knotted some webbing and wear that like a chest harness. clip an accessory biner into the harness to close it in front and the top hole of you hitch climber to hold it up. there's a little bit of sit back but not alot if you slide your hitch up with your hand before taking a break and sitting into your harness.
