Friction Savers....PulleySaver

Who's climbing on the new pulley saver? I know of 2 buzzers that have one, lets see if they chime in or not.

I want to buy a friction saver style device, and love the look of this from what i saw at TCI Expo. My biggest concern is being able to retrieve it from the ground easily.......
 
Hey Jim!

Get a pulleySAVER! You will not be disappointed. Retrieval is head-and-shoulders above the RopeGuide. Plus, the rated becket allows many wonderful auxiliary configurations! Not to mention the ability to truly choke against a stem.

I have yet to get a pulleySAVER stuck. Yes, it will happen eventually. I have had it drop onto a stub or sprout and cause problems. Also, if your chosen route of descent is awkward you may have trouble creating slack between parts while retrieving... such is the case with most devices.
 
You can set it from the ground. However, waaaaaaaayyyy too much trouble and potential for problems. Plus, added wear on the soft eye with throw line rubbing on it...

When I'm in a situation that requires a false crotch set from the ground, I just bite the bullet and install a ring and ring.

EDIT:
Let me just reiterate... I do not recommend setting the pulleySAVER from the ground. It was never the design intention to do so. It is possible... but a giant headache to achieve.
 
To funny I just placed a large order with Luke at tree stuff today and was contemplating ordering one of the Pinto pulleys. But I wanted to review Taylor’s demos first. I think I will try to get Luke to add one to my order on Monday. Taylor love your videos keep them coming!
 
Is there anywhere to get one here in the states, or can you only get it from Europe. I've been thinking of getting one since I saw one in Savanna, but can find it anywhere.
 
Luke from treestuff.com said they should be here soon. The guy that he gets them from just placed the order for them...maybe a couple weeks?
 
You all do know that there is no need to buy a setup like this? If you already have a friction saver, just clip a pulley onto the small ring and install as you would normally. save you some money and I have never had an issue with install or taking it down when done ( that I would not have had with just a friction saver ).
 
You gotta climb on a Pinto bro.Fairfield I believe using the setup you desrcribe its probably close to half as efficient.

Here is the setup you described, it is the same as a ring & ring FS, no different, less friction is all. Still draped around a limb. Does allow easy install from ground, same retrieval as the PulleySaver though from my understanding.

Now the PulleySaver girths itself around the limb, has almost zero friction, and allows easy retrieval from the ground.

See the red strap and wire gate biner? That's your "small ring". Adding a retrieval ball to the line will catch that and pull it out. I got the ce multisaver and they include a ball with that which is smaller than the usual ring and ring retrieval balls. Not sure about the small pinto, but the ball fits through the cheek plates on the pinto rig, making that easily retrievable. I may set something up very similar to this, as its freaking sweet!

Curious how including a throwline in the retrieval would affect it?

I guess after looking at it, you'll have throwline running through the eye with a lot of friction, or you'll have to just let it fly!
 
ca someone make a video on retrieving the pully saver?

I would like to see the same. I can see it being awesome for tree removals but i'm alitle concerned about retrieval on pruning jobs and maby getting it snaged on the small suckers or tight crotches. Any problems with this happening? or should you use the this just for removal and stick to the ring and ring for the prunes?
 
It is basically a rope guide, but I've heard it is easier to retrieve. Still there is always the chance you will get it snagged pulling it out. If I'm in a tree where there is a good chance of getting stuck, I tie a throw line to it in the tree so I can control it when retrieving it.
