Friction saver

I've been cruising through old videos and articles and have a question about friction savers.

I run an adjustable ring and ring fs (the white 3 strand with steel rings from sherill) My question is more about things like the u-saver, I understand the set and retrieve remotely from a basket and love it, and working with a lot of ice storm damage and busted up crowns I see the appeal in sometimes needing a chocker.

What I haven't fully grasped is things like the u-saver you can run around 2 tie ins with say 4 rings to pass through. When would this be applicable or an advantage?

Not trying to pick on Tom or the U-saver he's a heck of an engineer I've just been watching a lot of his videos lately, thanks for those Tom.

there is nothing wrong with what you are thinking. just be aware of how far apart the points are and the increased load at those points due to the angles, standard multipoint anchor stuff for various applications.

above a tight crotch with included bark or a slight split, or two really small tie-ins that I don't trust on their own. It has been a few and far between thing for me and frankly could probably always have been done differently too.

Sorry I misread your original post and my previous comment now seems out of place.
