Fred fells 400 ft + Chimney!
This has got to be the best Arb related video ever!
Fred Dibnah - old school arborist felling a 400ft+ Chimney with no backcut.
He removes the bricks at the base of the felling direction side.
To create a notch/scarf......
He replaces the bricks with wooden support beams
Then sets a fire around them....
The beams burn away.....
Then the chimney falls exactly where he wants it.
Check out his hard hat! Risk Assessments - Nah!

Direct link to a 200' (?) brick chimney being "felled" with no back cut.
There's no need for a back cut since there are no tension forces which require release.
