Frankinstorm

I really feel ya X. I was hoping for an easy week so I can get another batch of HHs ready, now Im worried about what happens if the power goes out??? CNC mills dont run too well without electricity.... Plus we are busy with trees as is .... PLEASE no storm....

Wonder how many tree guys will go to an expo right after a major storm and loose thousands in work???

Well, many went to Hartford last year, and that urban forest was a shambles in places. But i know one guy who is not preregistered this year who may skip most of it...maybe just do the tradeshow circuit one time; hard to resist that if in the area...

After a week of insurance work, the pockets will be jinglin...Better that it hits Nov 1 than Nov 8!

If this storm is gonna be what they say it is, I'll be missing the Expo. So much for my pre-registration...I've had so many customers call me up to try and get their tree work done before the storm.

Yep, the phones ringing for work to be done before Tuesday! Ummmmmmm.... jeez, you've had that proposal for a month or more and now you decide you want to do it, on Friday?

Gearing up for a mess.

Same in PA. We are going to be cleaning up for a long time.

Thought I would mention we had a storm here in early aug and ALL insurance co's paid with no prob........except for all state........adj Jose gonzales has been giving me the run around for a couple mos! (job was bid upfront......approved by agent! And now I get "oh you want to get paid ?.......here jump through these ten hoops.........oh look....here's ten more hoops? .?..). Beware of this! Wish I could come out and help but too busy. BE SAFE!

Mike,

Food for thought: After we chanced Hurricane charlie we learned really fast that we should never submit bills to insurnce people.

We deal directly with customer now, payment on completion, and we provide the invoice and breakdown they can submit for reimbursement.

the unexpected benefit is that once the insurance people saw our pricing, thoroughness and value they started telling thier clients to give us a call.

good luck to everyone, we had one come through in January.

Remember.....only fools rush into storm damage.

How's it looking for the Virginia-Jersey folks? I'm itching for updates! So far so good in RI, just some really really high water in the bay.

Not good. The barrier islands are a bit south of me, ocean to the east, bay to the west. I just got word that the ocean has already swept across into the bay. It's not even high tide. We're boned. The wind keeps building and so does the rain. Fully expecting to lose power any minute.

I was thinking about bringing some guys out to the east side of the world to help out with the storm damaged trees. If anyone is overloaded with work, shoot me an email or call me and we can discuss working out some kind of a deal. We have 2 climbing Certified Arborists, 2 groundies, and a sales guy that can come as well.

From the looks of things, there will be plenty of opportunities.
