Foot lock prussick tether

Sorry if my description is a tad verbose but I was trying to be concise in absence of a picture. It's simple and accomplishes exactly the same thing while stowing itself out of the way. Personally I would never put anything resembling rope around my neck for the mere convenience of a non flopping prussic cord.

cool. yeah i'd like to see a picture so i could really get the full idea. i'm not a fan of the bungee around the neck either. i've never had much trouble with my bridge flopping or getting tangled in my prusik. i'm climbing on the glide right now and the bridge is a little stiffer. i have had some crappy luck with bad locks though!

I have arrived at using a piece of 6mm tent pole cord and taking a round turn around my waist belt that stays there prmanently... in front of the turn is a smaller loop that I thread a bight of my bridge through and slide the krab through. The elastic cord cinches down to hold the krab in place on the folded bridge which is held snug to my belt yet there is enough stretch in the extra material afforded by the round turn that when the system is weighted the is room for everything to assume regular positions w/o strain.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. Is the "6mm tent pole cord" elastic then?

I might be posting a little late on this topic, but this might help

All of the testing that i did proved that the shock cord did not effect the breaking strength of the Bunn-g-string, even after 13000 cycles(Aprox. 1000 50' climbs) the breaking strength was above the minimum tolorence.

If you let me know the exact length, then you can have a product that is the correct for you.

I form the eye, then bury the bungee into one of the tails. I run the bunguee down the rope, bury that tail, then i insert the bungee into the other tail, then bury that tail.

It sounds confusing, and it is... I have to pause a few times while doing it to make sure it's all going according to plan.

An easier way would be to just form the eyes, then lay the bungee inside the rope, then bury the tails alongside the bungee. Stitch to anchor one side of the bungee, then pull the other side to the desired tension, then anchor/stitch the other side and cut the excess off.

The confusing way makes a rounder finished product.

true that!

the first time is the hardest, i don't reccomend using ICE.... it has a tighter weave and will not give as much movement with the shock cord inside.

I used to bring the shock cord out and make a turn around the tenex, but i agree with Nick... it is better if the shock cord is buried through the splice
