foot ascenders helpful or hinderance?

I'm still unsure about the setup. Hard to see what's going on in the avatar. A photo would be much easier to view. Is it an SRT with a DdRT as a floating false crotch?

If you mean that you have a Prusik cord around both legs of a doubled line and the Kong is below the Prusik (as in the attachment) then you have an unsafe setup. The prusik won't hold if the ascender fails. It's explained on the last page of this article:

Tom is right about terminology becoming complex. I think 'air bridge' is whats commonly called a 'tether'.

I think I see what you've done with the LJ. In a fashion you've got a Sport Jack I think.

It looks like you take the lowest biner that's on the tether and attach it to the link on the LJ gives you a long bridge.

this is correct tom and depending on how far i angle the rope through the jack(w/ a micro pully attached to the lowest biner) depends weather or not the pantin is affective, as if the ropeis too far out from my body it kicks out way too often when i'm not consitrating on not kicking out of the pantin. but i almost always use the kong double handled ascender between the jack and the micro pully at the bottom of the rig.so if the kong were to fail it would not affect me other than being w/o my ascender but i would not fall even an inch
