"HelloFresh" meatloaf and buttered ginger rice meal. Got the half price deal on three recipes to try. Comes in a little cardboard icebox with everything fresh and raw, and you get to cook it up. :-)

Very impressed. Excellent at half price; a bit expensive at full price. Some tastes I would not have tried otherwise.

Umami Lamb Meatloaf

Modified: from Beef to Lamb

Olive oil Extra-Virgin - as needed
Onion, red - diced
Garlic - minced
Shitake, or other mushrooms - sliced ¼“ thk, strips
Red bell pepper - sliced ¼” thk, strips
Corn kernels - thawed if frozen
Red tomato - diced small (canned; Muir Glen brand, fire roasted, diced; drained of liquid)
Sun died tomato - sliced ¼” thk, strips (squeeze out excess oil if required)
Bread crumbs (or more) - (used Panko)
Tamari sauce (or Soy)
Black pepper - coarse grind
Bacon - hickory-smoked, thick slices
Lamb, ground
Thyme, crushed
Rosemary, crushed
Smoked paprika, ground powder
Chipotle pepper, ground powder
Red pepper flakes
Accent seasoning (MSG)

FYI: Umami ingredients typically include:
Soy/Tamari
Mushrooms
Red bell peppers
Red onions
Bacon
Corn
Tomatoes
MSG
Etc, etc, etc

I love meatloaf but not lamb so much even though a place is n Greek Town in Detroit has great lamb chops but that’s the only place I’ve found that I like
 
Homemade Potato Gnocchi - Pan Fried in Brown Butter

2/3 c - 50 g Dried potato flakes
2/3 c - 158 g Boiling water
Egg, beaten
½ t Salt
1.5 c - 210 g AP Flour

Notes:
  • Dried potato flakes minimizes adjusting the amount of moisture / flour.
  • I have cooked gnocchi by pan frying, deep frying, steaming, boiling. This is the best in IMO.
  • Pan frying with LOTS of butter, gives the outside texture, with a soft inside.
  • The brown butter is rich & adds a “nutmeg” flavor. After cooking the gnocchi absorbs the “excess” brown butter.

I’ve never eaten fried gnocchi, but I do love a good gnocchi. That looks great!
